Text Clarity (Cleartype)
Comparing Acrobat (either Reader/Writer), NitroPDF is clearly deficient in the rendering of text. On smaller font sizes, NitroPDF renders text as blocky curves, jagged edges, and is generally unsatisfactory. Is it a matter of adding a ClearType screen calibration component?
With 6-10hrs a day reviewing PDFs, switching back to Acrobat until improved.

Allow new PDF to be "appended" to existing PDF by "save as"
This would save the tedious business of using "insert" to build a multi-page PDF.
You would just "save as" the new page(s) as an existing file name and would be offered the choice of replacing or appending to.

Enable layers support
Enable support for PDF documents with layers, similar to that in Adobe Reader. Very useful for maps and similar documents.

transparent background in stamps
Have ability to designate a particular colour to be transparent in stamps. Desired result is more "natural" looking signatures so that the retangal of the stamp image does not block out the form.
I have tried the tips instructions in making your own signature stamp to "sign" documents. But I don't have Adobe Illustrator to save as a PDF with transparent background. Going out to buy Illustrator defeats the purpose of buying cost effective software like Nitro PDF.
thanks.

Print Sections of Documents unscaled
We have the ability to print to Expand and Shrink to fit Page (the difference I'm yet to fully grasp), but if we choose None, we are stuck with only the Middle Top of the Document.
It would be a good feature to be able to print parts of an A3 Document on our A4 Printer. If we can select the area to print, we could then run the print off at one end then the other (2 Prints) or choose the critical part of the drawing and be able to print it to scale.
Anyone working with Drawings need to vote this one in!!! -

Make the Open and Save As dialog boxes re-sizeable started
Current size is not efficient for selecting files with long names and sorting according to date modified. For those of us that use Vista, it would be even better to make the dialog boxes similar to Windows Explorer dialog box with ability to see previews prior to opening files and drop down directory selection. Almost didn't buy the program because of this one issue.

Add Highlight Color Top x (x = 5)
Adding the ability to remember 5 or 10 top color for highlighting and sticky notes... would be helpful if there was a named palette as well with ability to export (XML) allowing for syncronized setting accross multiple users.

clip (export) to new PDF / JPG
We can use Snapshot to dump an image to an external application and save to JPG or image format, or Crop a PDF and save the cropped PDF, but we cannot select a portion of the page (including text & picture) and save as a new file. I want to preserve the original. I would call it 'Clip' - this is where you select a clip from the page (text and/or image) and have the ability to export it to a new file, preferably in PDF and JPG... perhaps give the user multi format option in the preferences. If they select three formats, the Clip is output to three files. Add XML with file specs like dimension, pixels, etc would make it even better!

Windows Explorer Thumbnail Integration planned
It would be great if NitroPDF could expose a plugin for thumbnail generation. Currently I have to have Adobe Reader installed to see thumbnails of PDF files in Windows Explorer whilst I'm using NitroPDF.

256-bit AES encryption
How about supporting 256-bit AES encryption in the next version of Nitro PDF Professional? Adobe's Acrobat, Acrobat Pro, and Acrobat Pro Extended 9.0 versions have already included support for the higher-grade encryption, after all..

Ability to bring forward/send backward elements
Add the ability to change the order of elements added to a PDF (e.g, lines, rectangles, stamps). Currently the order is stacked with newest addition on top. It would be nice to be able to change the stacking order of overlapping items. My work-around is to delete the elements and add in the order I want.

Ability to rotate in 1 degree increments or deskew
The ability to deskew a scanned page would be very beneficial. I suggest modifying the permanent rotate feature from only 90, 180, & 270 degrees to allowing a user entry in 1 degree increments.

Different compression types in a single PDF document
Quite often there is the problem to create PDFs with embedded graphics/diagrams (some lines with a white or single-color background) and added pictures (e.g. a technical device/setup) in the same document.
If you compress with jpg, the diagram looks quite ugly, if you compress with tif the document gets quite big.
It really should be possible to use both kinds of compression in one document to get a nice and lean/small pdf. I've seen other pdf-converters using this method and I'm really missing this at nitro. Probably a good feature for an advanced optimizing function.Best Regards,
Bernd
